Over four thousand youths of Kolkata participated in “Walk for Indian Armed Force” to pledge their unconditional support to Indian Armed Forces for their great sacrifice for the Motherland. The event was organised by a forum named “India First” which started from Maharana Pratap Statue (Central Metro Station) and went up to Netaji Subhash Statue at the five point crossing at Shyambazar in the Sunday afternoon.

Subduing the fake allegations against Indian Armed Forces on duty in Kashmir or elsewhere, the youth of Kolkata extended their wholehearted support to the Forces who are fighting for a cause of national security and integrity. They raised slogans for Indian Army, Vande Mataram, Bharat Mata ki Jai, Jai Hind and vowed to choke any anti-national voice against India and its Armed Forces.

After the killing of Lashkar-e-Toiba Commander Burhan Wani in an encounter in Kashmir valley, some quarters from Ultra leftist and secular started blaming on Indian security forces for alleged excessive proactiveness in the valley which caused a tight blockade for the subversive activities run by Pakistani patronage. Some ultra student’s forums and their mentors in Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi and Jadavpur University of Kolkata tried to dignify Burhan Wani as ‘martyr’ and wanted to glorify the subversive activities in Kashmir in the name of ‘Kashmir Freedom Movement’.

But, the youths of Kolkata extended a high message that “Kashmir was in India, it is in India and will be forever in India”. And no Indian citizen will tolerate any vilification of the statute and action of Indian Armed Forces in anywhere in any manner.

Niraj Agarwal, one of the organizers of the event and an activist of INDIA FIRST told HENB, “Most of the Indian citizens and the students are obviously patriotic. They never oppose Vande Mataram, Bharat Mata ki Jai or the Indian Army. There is no such hue and cry on National slogans, Kashmir issue or Army action in Kashmir in any colleges and universities in West Bengal or India. But. such anti-national activities are only found in JNU and JU. We have to find to reason. It is learnt from sources that there some lecturers and professors in the faculty of JNU and JU. Govt. must identify to disown them from such anti-national activities to save the students from further crisis”.

The rainy weather could not resist the participants in the walkathon not for any fundraising but to arouse the Nationalist fervour to support the Indian Armed Forces fighting in the fronts for the safety security of our Motherland and its citizen.

The program was concluded with singing of the National Anthem.
