#MaskIndia Campaign: A TOI Initiative to Fight Against Coronavirus in India

Coronavirus or Covid-19 is one of the most infectious disease the world has ever seen, till now more than 15 million people around the world is infected and nearly 90,000 death occurs by this pandemic. In India, the figures are 5,734 and 166 respectively.

Though the mortality rate of the virus is quite low, it becomes horrible due to its fast infectious nature. It has an ability to transmit from one human body to other rapidly.

To combat against this pandemic, the whole world including India has taken the necessary step to Lockdown the whole country to prevent the spread of this deadly virus.

During lockdown, its becomes mandatory for some state of India to wear Facemasks while going outside for any emergency or necessary reason. To supply a huge volume of masks in a short time has become extremely difficult for the Government or Private mask manufacturing companies.

#MaskIndia Campaign

Times Group (TOI) has come up with a unique #MaskIndia Campaign Contest with Tagline “Make your own Face mask”.

As the tagline suggest, this contest is all about making your own mask at home and take a selfie photo or video with it and upload in their contest page with tag #MaskIndia. The best posts will be featured in TOI and on maskindia.com

This #MaskIndia Campaign initiative from Times group which encourages people to make and wear homemade Masks, was also lauded by PM Modi. The Prime Minister re-tweeted the #MaskIndia Tweet by Deepak Jain, MD TOI group.
